“To love doing one thing doesn’t mean one does not love doing other things.” – Pat Bean
And I Have No One to Blame but Myself
My brain’s on overload after I wrote down all the things I must do or want to do this week, which involves six writing projects (two with upcoming deadlines), a Barry Manilow concert tonight, a play reading Friday night, a bit of painting when I can fit it in, dog walking and sitting (my part-time job), upgrade my computer to Windows 10, a delayed birthday dinner at my daughter’s Thursday, plus reading and cleaning my apartment, etc., etc., etc.
How does a supposedly retired person get herself into so much chaos? Something in me must love chaos. But I’m not going to have time to figure it out this week. I’m going to be too busy.

Be happy that you have so many good things to do. Sounds like most of it’ll be fun.
I am indeed blessed, and I must like this kind of life because the weeks keep repeating themselves and I’m not the least bit unhappy — at least after I finally stopped beating myself up for all the thing I didn’t get done. I try to start each day with the most important tasks at the top of my list, but at some point during the day the priority shifts to the most fun things.
Definitely go to the concert tonight and put cleaning on the bottom of the list!
I definitely will. Thanks Judy
You sure you want to update to Windows 10? I’m not. I keep debating with myself if I should. I know it’s free. But I have a running system with 8.1 and, as they say, “never change a running system”. What I don’t like most with 10 is that I have no choice if/when to update. So what’s going to happen if an update messes up my computer which previously Windows updates have been known to do.
I’ve heard bad stuff about Windows 10. My system keeps telling me I’ve downloaded it and need to install it but I’m resisting. I’ve even got some emails and newsletters that propose to tell me how to not lose stuff and settings when I migrate over but, like you, I have a working system so I don’t thnk I want to ask for trouble even if it’s better eventually. There’s no guarantee that it will be.
So far I haven’t even downloaded it yet, in spite of the constant reminders.
It eats spider solitaire and Hearts. They are no more. There were times when I wanted to delete them (because I played too much) but never could. So it’s OK — but I miss them.
I just did it. It was frustrating, because it said to sign on as administrator, which is not how I usually sign on. So when it was finished, it took me quite a while, and some password changes before I finally discovered how to get back to making MSN my home page, which held all my favorites and whose format of things I was familiar with. But once all that was accomplished everything seems to be working fine. I upgraded from windows 7. It pretty much wasted a whole morning. Good luck if you do decide to change. I was getting the notices several times a day.
I keep getting reminders which I have ignored. My desktop has Windows 7 and the laptop has Windows 8. I’m not sure I am ready for Windows 10.
Thx for the info. 🙂
so i will be getting to look fo9r more paintings hh yahoo for me.. have fun and enjoy loved this blog it was funny
Thanks. Love you.
That’s a lot but I understand. My work hours are decreasing but I still can’t get everything done. Love your joyful paintings. Windows 10 – I have had no problem with it.
I have no problem with Windows 10 — Now. But it was frustrating for a few hours until I got my home page back. Thanks for the kind words.
Very nice picture of the flowers and fence. I really like the colours. 🙂
Thanks Janes. I love bright colors.
I love your pen-and-watercolour technique – your paintings are lovely! I must try it – I’m terrible at watercolour, but maybe it would help to ‘colour inside the lines’. 🙂
Thanks Diane. I only use the pen after I’ve watercolored. It makes items stand out, and look better — sometimes. Other times it doesn’t and I regret my fiddling. I’m just always experimenting. I also use watercolor pencil for small details, then wet the area to blend in. The best advice I ever got from an art teacher was to give yourself permission to paint a bad painting. I start every work with this in mind. And more often than not I succeed.
