A Disney Decision
I’ve been angry all week about our incompetent elected leaders who aren’t intelligent or caring enough to keep the government operating. Perhaps they’re telling us we can do without them.
But just thinking about politics makes my blood pressure jump, which is why I didn’t need to read that Disney is taking an action that would personally affect my severely autistic granddaughter. It also made my blood pressure soar.
Instead of allowing disabled children to jump ahead in lines, Disney will now give them a return time for the ride. While that may be fine for many, it’s not for my granddaughter and others like her, who don’t understand the concept of wait, and who aren’t calm when having to wait. For them, this is a travesty.
But it’s not Disney that I blame. I blame the thousands and thousands of people who have fraudulently taken advantage of this perk, which is the reason for Disney’s decision to change it.
These are the same people who fraudulently use handicapped parking spaces, cheat on their taxes, play hooky from work by saying they are sick when they are not, and who wouldn’t return money to the person they saw drop it. If something benefits them, and they can get away with it, then they do it.
And in the end, everyone pays the price.
Not only have we been setting bad examples for our children, it’s these same children who grow up to be our country’s leaders.

Well with industry open the US of A is still standing strong. Guess who should run the country.
Good observation.
I agree, Pat. Although I am glad our city is putting in red-light cameras as a woman in our music teacher’s group had her husband killed by someone running red light, do we have to have big brother always watching just to get people to do the right thing. Yesterday, 3 young ladies who were jay walking without looking walked out in front of my car and then banged on the hood of the car as if I was at fault for almost hitting them. EXCUSE ME!!! You are responsible for your own safety. I cannot stop on a dime. And since Congress has proven itself to be a nonessential function of the government, we need to put them on furlough too!
Now I will go and rant at ABC for taking off the one redeeming new show of the season off the air (Lucky 7). Let’s have more violence and cheating and lying and stealing, etc. for our kids to watch – and that’s just the reality shows.
I agree. We need a government, and not just because of those who go crazy without structure. It’s just that the one we have now does not seem to be working well. Those who lead us should not have any more perks than the ones they are leading.
Unfortunately, we don’t have to look far to make our blood pressure spike. A dog barking for a solid hour next door to us at night, a hard-to-remove stain in my driveway from something tossed by a passing motorist…
On the other hand I have good friends both in town and online, and plenty of good stuff to think about.
So rue Bob. Even with the downside of life, there’s so much more to it that we should be grateful for having.
Depressing isn’t it? I think I will go look for some grizzlies. I certainly trust them more than politicians~
Meanwhile, I think I will go find a pack of wolves to howl with.
My only consolation in all this is the idea that chaos and dissolution of mores usually precedes a new worldview. The question for me is, will I live long enough to see it? I hate the idea of having to suffer through it without the reward of a better world.
I don’t think we will Sam. I’m just hoping my grandikids will see it.
You go girl! I am with you!
What you said.
