Friday Quote
“It doesn’t matter if the class is half empty or half full. Be grateful that there is a glass and there is something in it.” — unknown

Did you ever lie on your back and look for castles and dragons disguised as clouds? Did you know you can also find hidden figures in rocks. These are full of heads and faces. What do you see? — Photo by Pat Bean
A Mind Gone Astray
One of the bloggers I follow was asked if she had ever wanted to be a rock star. She said she would be happy if she could just sing on key. Then she said: “What I really want is to be a best-selling author … sigh.” I could have said exactly the same thing, and that made me laugh.
Finding kindred souls in the blogging world is one of the best things I like about this new form of reading, which has invaded my life. I don’t know about you, but I love this part of how the world has changed.
And by the way, have you ever wanted to be a rock star? If not, what have you wanted to be? This wondering-wanderer would really like to know.
Bean’s Pat: A Bridge Forward http://tinyurl.com/bf5lo78 Loved the quote, which gave me something else to ponder. I decided I really wasn’t fond of burning bridges.
I so want to be one of those writers that gets paid to travel, eat and drink:) I have a dream that I would make a really good drummer, love Animal from the Muppets. Loving your post – Happy Friday! Here’s to Hoping & Dreaming and Wondering & Wandering:)
Thanks for the kind words. I have, at times, been paid to travel and write about it. And I’m still getting paid a wee bit occasionally for travel artiles I write. So it’s not impossible and from reading your blog, it’s even very likely to happen one of these days.
I love rock faces. Good pick
Thanks.
Would love to be an author (at least able to support myself, don’t need to be rich). I’d like to have a small cottage by the sea and a small cabin in the woods for inspiration….lol
I want to create a writers colony for old broads like me. A zest for life and a good belly laugh would be requirements for admittance.
Of course I wanted to be a rock star, a successful one too!
A few years back I had to redefine my idea of ‘successful’ and I came to the conclusion that success didn’t hinge on ‘being’ anything other than happy. I then set out to rid myself of all the things which I saw as standing in the way of my being happy and therefore, successful. Often what stands in the way of happiness is not what we don’t have, but rather what we do have.
Thankfully, I’m sure all who know me would say, I didn’t. I couldn’t carry a tune if it only had one note.
Beautifullly said. I already knew this, but truly understood it when I traveled to Africa and saw smiles on faces of people who literally had nothing. Every American should travel to such places to know how grateful they should be for what they have and stop whining about what they don’t have.
I agree, I think international travel should be a requirement at all universities. There’s nothing quite as educational as a first-hand taste of the world outside our borders.
What a magnificent being lives in that rock; a mighty protector too.
I’m glad you saw it too, Genie
