Oh What a Beautiful Morning …
“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the faster lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lions wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle … when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.”
A Howl of a Sunrise
When Pepper and I stepped out of the RV on our last morning at Lake Arrowhead State Park. It was to a chorus of howling coyotes.
My new canine companion perked her ears up, listened for a couple of seconds and then joined their chorus. What a great traveler she’s going to make, I thought.
Then I stepped around the side of my RV, Pepper’s leash in one hand and a cup of cream-laced African coffee in the other hand, and watched the sun rise.
Every morning should have such a great start.

Sounds like heaven!
Pretty close to it Len.
I miss hearing coyotes.
May their song be in your future.
Thanks for the beautiful sunrise … and the chuckles of the companion joining the chorus.
For weighing all of 12 little pounds, she’s a brave thing, and curious about every thing. Pat and Pepper even sounds like it goes together, too. Thanks for commenting.
Thanks for sharing the joy in your heart.
Hugs to you!
You’re welcome Regina
Is that the Lake Arrowhead by Wichita Falls?
Yes. It is Jim.
Keep your sweet Pepper safe from coyotes. They do go after little dogs. We had one charge at our little, 20 pound dog once before the coyote realized we were there with it.
She’s always on a leash, as was my Maggie, who always got hot to follow any coyote’s trail. At only 12 pounds, Pepper would make a tasty treat but she’s got me to protect her.
THAT is just Heaven on earth…doggie, views, distant sounds, and your special coffee….what can be better than that!
