Getting Better
I’m in Tucson, where winter has long passed. The temperature’s in the 70s and low 80s, which is too hot for me in humid Texas but great here where the air is dry. Besides, the desert cools off at night, something Texas never does.
I left my RV, Gypsy Lee, parked in Texas yesterday and flew from Austin, to Dallas, to Tucson so as to spend some time with my youngest daughter, Trish. We’re both in a recuperating mode, she from double pneumonia and fractured ribs, and me from losing my canine traveling companion Maggie, and then eight days later her replacement, Princess Meghan.
We’re helping each other through difficult times. I couldn’t be in a better place.
And as a bonus, there’s new scenery visible from where I sit at my computer. But more importantly, I’m back to counting my daily blessings.
Bean’s Pat: Barb’s Blog http://tinyurl.com/6o67fyf A blog that clearly demonstrates no one can push you around without your permission. I love it.
Lovely inspiring view! I hope you and your daughter’s time together is peaceful and full of joy.
Thanks I’m sure it will be. I’m here until mid-April before flying back to get Gypsy Lee.
Pat, I am so sorry about your losses with your dogs. 😦
Thanks Martina.
Sounds like you and your daughter really need each other. Hope you’re both better soon.
Thanks. I think we do.
working out well this healing journey- sending blessings and healing thoughts to the two of you – enjoy

Thanks Chery. Already my body is feeling better.
Lovely views Pat.
Thanks for the mention, it’s much appreciated!
It is great that you two can be there for each other.
Yes it is. And she has a great dane and a yellow lab that love and comfort me, too. For now I’m just enjoying dogs I find along my journey. Thanks for commenting.
Pat, I live in Tucson. I wish I was off work this week so I could meet you! Bad timing for me! I’ve got to sleep all day and work all night! I hope you get to enjoy some of our lovely weather. You’ve probably been here before but if not be sure to go to the Desert Museum. You will love it. Or Tohono Chul, my favorite place in Tucson. And stop by Cup Cafe at the Hotel Congress. My hub and I just ate breakfast there yesterday and it was divine.
Hope you enjoy your stay and the recoveries!
Beckie
I’m going to be here until April 12, when I’m flying back to Austin for a writer’s conference. So maybe there will still be an opportunity to get together for a cup of coffee somewhere, perhaps the Cup Cafe even. My daughter lets me use her car, or perhaps she can come too. She’s doing better and is now driving again. I’ve been to the Desert Museum before and do plan on going back for a visit while I’m here. What a great place. What’s Tohono Chul?
Keep writing … Pat Bean https://patbean.wordpress.com
Tohono Chul is a great garden in the foothills area. It is like the Desert Museum minus the animals and it has a lovely tearoom. Maybe before you leave we can meet there and have a cuppa? I will keep in touch with you (as always) and I will have some time off before you leave. That would be surreal- meeting one of my blog pals!
I’m glad you’re out and about again 🙂
We lived in Tucson for three years in the late 70s. Being from Texas, I felt great there for the same reason you mention: the low humidity. My wife, however, is from Wyoming, and couldn’t stand the 116 degree days in the summer.
Well I lived in Vegas for eight months. That was all I could take but it left me with memories of the heat. Hopefully it won’t get too hot before I get back on the road.
